Scorecard
Description:
A picture perfect start to the back nine, this hole bends slightly to the right, sitting along the bank of the Taunton River. A narrow tee box and a narrow view of the fairway tightens up many golfers as they address their ball. A huge hill looms along the right a short distance from the tee, kicking many errant shots down and back toward the fairway. The fairway and entire hole widens the closer to the green you get, the length of it providing fantastic river views. This is the lowest sitting terrain on the course.
How to Play It:
The tee shot is far from easy. Water left and out of bounds on the right force many to take an iron or hybrid off the tee, setting up three placement shots to the green. However, an aggressive tee shot with the driver can make this hole quite reachable in two. The wind direction will often complicate your choice. Anywhere in the fairway will be just fine, although longer hitters will want to leave their tee shot along the same side as their typical ball flight, resulting in an easier approach. After landing your tee shot safely, shots down the fairway and into the green open considerably. Do not miss long if the pin is in the back of the green.
