Scorecard
Description:
Hole #1 is a long par 4 with a very slight bend to the left. A large tee box directs you down a tree lined fairway that often plays into the wind. A reachable and large ravine lurks along the left side of a fairway that narrows roughly 150 yards from the green. Short of the green lay three varied bunkers. A large and receptive green that is slightly uphill awaits your approach shot. The green moves right to left, mostly.
How to Play It:
This long par 4 requires two demanding shots to reach the green. The tee shot must be long while avoiding the large ravine to the left of the fairway. A good tee shot down the left side reduces your yardage to the green, but a tee shot down the right side presents less trouble. The approach to the green must safely navigate three bunkers, left and right of the green. A large and grassy bail out area resides to the right green high, but long or left can ruin your score. Instead of hitting a difficult fairway wood or long iron, consider a second shot lay-up to a comfortable wedge yardage and try for a one-putt! If the hole is cut on the right side of the green, do not get greedy. Walk away with a par here and be happy.
