Scorecard
Description:
#9 is a straight forward hole, although a very lengthy one! A small dip in the fairway lingers roughly 120 yards out along the right side, but the fairway is otherwise flat and among the widest on the course. A narrow bunker on the left can often save the snapped tee shot, while a huge box bunker sits further out along the left side and makes for an difficult long iron approach. A single line of tall trees shape the right side of the hole. The green is large, sloping from right to left. A large bunker resides on the right front, and another along the left side of the putting surface. Over the green reveals a severe downward sloped hill and thick grass.
How to Play It:
Two long and straight shots are the only way to the green in regulation for most players. Off the tee there is out of bounds left and a lush tree line down the right. The fairway is among the largest on the course. A well placed tee shot would be long and down the left side, providing the best angle for your approach shot. A low running shot will roll and bounce into the green, provided the conditions aren't especially wet. You can get up and down far more easily from in front of the hole, but misses left or right, and especially long, make this lengthy hole even harder. The green slopes harshly from right to left, leaving very few "easy" putts. Stay below the hole! Left of the cup will possibly leave you a straighter putt. Better to find a longer putt that may be straight than risk getting a close but sharp breaking putt.
