Description: |
#2 is the first of two par 5s at FRCC. The hole is a unique ride, featuring four tiers of terrain you will almost certainly strike your ball from. An elevated tee leads you to a wide and hilly upper fairway, surrounded by grassy hills and trees right. One bunker resides on the upper fairway along the right side. The upper fairway's left side has more undulation than the right, often resulting in uneven lies and unpredictable bounces. A huge, down sloping fairway hill sits just beyond the half-way point of the hole. The lower fairway at the bottom of the hill is the lowest terrain on the front nine. An elevated, right to left sloping, well-protected, green awaits your approach shot. There is a small fairway in front of the green for run-up shots. |
|
How to Play It: |
Although unlikely, this green is reachable in two with a large tee shot that carries the crest of the hill in the center of the fairway and/or with a long and accurate second from the top of it. Keep your ball in the wide fairway. Deep rough and rocky terrain greet off-line shots. Be mindful of the wind when you are in the lower fairway area, roughly 190 to 60 yards remaining to the green. You may not feel it, but it's still there! This slippery green is well-guarded with bunkers and long grass. Errant shots into this elevated green will leave a difficult up and down. If you have a long iron to reach the green, consider a laying up to a comfortable wedge yardage. Stay below the hole for all hole locations. |
