Description: |
A great par 4, #13 was part of the original nine holes before the course expansion in the 70's. A flat and wide fairway area greets short tee shots, but the fairway ends abruptly with a steep drop off to the lower fairway. Out of bounds looms left along the trees, while a steep slope with thick grass protects the right side. However, tee shots just slightly right, and moving right to left in the air, may be propelled forward and back toward the fairway.
The fairway then creeps upward again and an elevated green greets your approach.
Multiple bunkers surround the green, which slopes significantly right to left. With a multitude of thought-provoking pin placements on this green, you may have some creative shot-making into and around the putting surface. |
|
How to Play It: |
An ideal tee shot will carry down the slope of the fairway, preferably along the right side, yielding a flat lie, shortest approach, and a good angle into the green. If you are unlikely to reach the green, it is wise to lay up to a comfortable yardage and a higher lofted club to hit into the green. Low line drives are not well-received by the various small bumps and hills the last 100 yards into the green. Miss long with a back hole location and you're in big trouble. Make par here and you should be very happy. |
